Zeberio- A Photobook
A collection of photographs taken on walks through Zeberio, a village nestled in the north of Spain. Captured during brief windows of time, often in the middle of my work day at the local school. Following no fixed path or purpose, picking a new direction each day I walked without restraint, guided only by curiosity and the smell of flowers and trees.
Zeberio is vast and its population sparse, yet its presence expansive. I found familiarity, warmth, and belonging within their distinct language, the trees and mountains, and eventually the people. That familiarity felt almost surreal at first, so far removed from the clamouring, cityscapes of Bombay where I’ve spent most of my life. But with every hike through an unexplored path, with every rock collected from the stream that feeling began to settle into something deeper. The village no longer felt like just a picturesque dream, but something more permanent: even if my sense of belonging remained fragmented.
This book is a record of those in-between moments and small pauses. It seeks to witness the convergence of two disparate worlds I hold dear, and to honor the space where they quietly meet.
